History

A long time ago, there was a baby abandoned in the forest. She was outcast from both courts, the result of a forbidden relationship between the two sides. The plan was for the child to die in the forest, but it appears that Ephilion had other plans. Something about this child was special and it seemed that the forest itself was guarding the young babe, protecting her and keeping her from harm. Whenever it appeared that the tiny child was in danger something would always happen to keep it safe, until finally the little girl was found and taken in by a scout from the group of Sidhe that call the forest home.

The group raised the babe as one of their own, enveloping her in their small community and giving her a name: Lily. She grew quickly, becoming a valuable member of their group and learning anything anyone would teach her. Due to this she became a master of swordplay from a young age and mastered various other weapons as well, including the bow, spears, and knives. Her powers didn’t come as easily to her, the conflicting power of summer and winter always seeming to cause a reaction within the girl’s body whenever she used them. Her powers also seemed to be rather volatile, sometimes reacting in unforeseen ways and causing her to fear her powers from a young age.

This didn’t stop her however and despite her fear of her powers she continued to practice with them, though always away from others where no one could get hurt. Eventually she found she was able to power through the pain her magic brought and bring control to her power, even able to use some extremely strong techniques. She still had to be careful however, for pushing herself too hard could lead to severe migraines and even passing out. Despite all of this though, Lily quickly blossomed into a mature and charismatic young lady, one who everyone in the Neutral territory respected and listened to as she seemed wise beyond her years.

Lily liked scouting and adventuring and so would venture into areas of Ephilion her species generally left alone. It was thanks to this however that Lily first saw the Giants and the threat of their armies approaching the Court’s territory. However, as a mixed Sidhe she had no pull within the Courts and so she had to come up with a different strategy. She enlisted a notorious Sidhe, one called simply Gray, who was trusted by the leaders of both Courts to warn them about this threat. It wasn’t too long after that when the war broke out. The Giants were powerful creatures and incredibly large. One could easily pick a Sidhe up and crush the life out of them. Knowing that they were at a huge disadvantage and not wanting to lose her home to the notoriously cruel creatures, Lily did something extremely dangerous - she ventured into the Maze in direct search of a Dragon to help them. It took a long time as every part of the Maze is changing and incredibly dangerous, but finally she managed to find a Dragon, one of the ancient beings who master the skies and the elements. It took a lot of convincing as Dragons, while not distrusting of Sidhe, don’t particularly care to get involved in other species issues, but finally the Dragon was convinced. His name was Dazenth and he was an earth dragon, a gargantuan and powerful creature indeed. He allowed Lily to accompany him out of the Maze and with the help of the Sidhe where Lily grew up they were able to push back the Giant’s advance. Unfortunately this wasn’t the main force and Dazenth’s help alone wouldn’t be enough to save them.

Lily found out about the plan of the rulers only after it was enacted. Oberon, Mab, and Titania all sacrificed their lives when the main force arrived in a giant blast of magic, decimating their forces. Through their sacrifice the war was won and casualties, while steep, weren’t as horrible as they could have been.

With the Giant’s now gone everyone returned home. The Sidhe of the Neutral territory were fine as they had no set leader and Lily settled back into life as it was; in the Courts however there was turmoil. Oberon and Titania had no children and Mab’s children are in a bid for power. Through this though Oberon’s most trusted advisor knew a secret, one that would shake the Court's to their core. However he saw no other choice in the matter and so he set out into the Neutral territory and found Lily.

Once more the Sidhe’s life was turned on it’s head. She finally knew who her parents were and the truth was a bigger shock than anything she could have imagined. King Oberon, the revered ruler was her father. Her mother? None other than Queen Mab. This made Lily a royal of both Court’s, sole heir to the Seelie throne and in the running for the Unseelie throne.

Meeting the people for the first time was.. Difficult. It was hard for people to accept a mixed heritage Sidhe but over a short time they grew more used to the idea as Lily was a no nonsense person who was fair, just like the previous king. Her siblings on the other hand proved more difficult. Her relationship with Thorn is still extremely rocky though she is slowly growing closer to her younger brother.
