The Deities
The deities are the ones who maintain the balance in Ephilion and watch over all the species that call this world home. Here you will find a list of each and what they do in the world, as well as which species honor them.. and which ones don't.
Xirena, goddess of Nature
One of the twins who maintain the balance in Ephilion, she watches over the natural aspects of their world. A calm and benevolent woman who cares for all things, the only way to make her angry is by destroying that which was created. As one of the two main deities most species honor her in some way.
Etdona, goddess of Magic
One of the twins who maintain the balance in Ephilion, she watches over and maintains the flow of magic that sustains every part of the world. More emotional and fiery than her twin, her passion gives her great care for those she watches over and is also the cause of no technology working in Ephilion. As one of the two main deities most species honor her in some way.
Anbum, god of Life
The male deity who sustains all living things, he is a caring and easy going man. He unerstands that there must be a balance of life and death but that doesn't mean he has to like it. He guards over children and the matings of each species carefully, in order to maintain the balance between life and death in each. He is honored in different ways by each species (other than undead ones)
Naqlous, god of Death
The brother to Anbum and the one who watches over the dead to make sure they are where they need to be. He makes sure that people join him in death when their time is up and works closely with Anbum to make sure that the balance is maintained. He's the most likely to bring down curses for attempting to upset the balance, as bringing those who are gone back from the dead is strictly forbidden. Every species honors this deity, both for a peaceful death when it comes and for the safety of their loved ones when their time comes.
Lyros, god of Time
The counter to Turra, Lyros governs all of time in all worlds. Known in most cultures as Father Time or any variation thereof, he's a grandfatherly man who has no tolerance for people messing with how things are supposed to be. That doesn't mean he's cruel however as he actually has great compassion for all under his eye. Which is everyone.
Turra, goddess of Realms
The female who creates and guards the portals between worlds. She makes sure that no one abuses these accesses and if they do then she punishes them however she sees fit. As she has access to multiple realms, the only deity who questions her regularly is Lyros, however Xirena and Etdona have been known to intervene for the good of Ephilion on occassion. Certain species despise Turra and for good reason. Some have even been known to desecrate her temples.

Special People and PlacesIn Ephilion there are many different "special" people and places. These are just a few of them that you may find mentioned.
High in the mountains, in a special citadel, reside ancient beings. No one knows what race they are but they're masters of forging weapons for those deemed worthy to weild. Very few ever get weapons from these mysterious figures as it takes a lot to be deemed worthy of their services and you must give up a part of your very essence in order to have that weapon forged.
The Maze is a treacherous place all on it's own. But hidden deep within it's twisting branches resides a witch whose fearsome magic is known far and wide. Baba Yaga, a nasty but ancient and wise witch, calls The Maze home. She lives in a swampy area, her home surrounded by a fence made up of bones. Her memory is long and she never forgets a face so if you seek her out beware not to offend her or risk all of hell bearing down on you.
Travelling through the Deep Wild is no easy task. Reaching the end of it is even harder. But if you can reach the end and then go even further beyond that you'll find yourself at the edge of the world. Beyond this abyss is where it's said the deities reside and if you have some special object you'll be able to go and meet with them. A staircase made of starlight will lead you up to their palace where you must solve multiple riddles.. or die trying. If you can accomplish all of this then it's said that the deities will grant you one - and only one - wish. But keep in mind that nothing's ever as easy as it may seem in Ephilion.
It's said that deep under the ocean there resides a beautiful race who never comes to the surface. They live in an underwater city with a gorgeous palace. But no one knows for sure as the ocean is a place where only the strongest of the Dragons can go. Perhaps one of them would know about it..
