Harpies basis.

Harpies are the true creatures which we can call ‘beauty and beast.’ During day, they will be the human-looking creatures that everyone knows and loves. At night however, they are the epiphany of all things ugly, their arms grow feathers, their skin will look all dry and crackled, the only thing humane about the harpies at night time are their stomach and chest because their legs will turn into bird legs, accompanied by claws for their feet.

The harpies have no side, they can be good or evil. This is why the Harpies distrust each other apart from their leader.

Harpies were once human who have gotten lost while being guided by a sidhe in Ephilion, and Turra, the deities of the realm curse the humans for unknown reasons prior to getting lost. (Bios must reflect this unless the child was born from a harpy.) The cursed human will only find this out when they transform for the first time that night. Although they will probably have someone to tell them what they look like before they continue with their lives, whether it affected them or not.

A Harpy’s wings and feathers can be based the colours of birds in the human world to represent the fact that they were once human. These feathers and wings do not reflect upon the cursed ones personality.

History


Harpies have existed from the beginning of time. The Greeks knew of the fate that the harpies were given. They were quite disfigured and they were very ugly, cursed to take on this hideous form at night. As such the Greeks came up with legends to explain what happened and warn people of the fate that may be awaiting them if they didn’t listen. In today’s world, everyone believes them to be utter rubbish, knowing that greek mythology is a mere legend. A legend that went with the fairytales that were only believed by little children. Unfortunately for them, they lost the realization that all the stories.. Are true, just in another dimension.

The Sidhe are rather crafty and dislike the humans, preferring to never dote on them and lead them to their doom. Some go into the human dimension, picking on the perfect ‘candidates’ to take them back to Ephilion. Even though some humans naturally got lost anyway, the sidhe tended to make them lost deliberately, and thus the humans were cursed by Turra, the deity of the realms as punishment. She could sense the sin they had committed in their past and refused to allow them without some form of punishment.

Due to this punishment, the harpies have all hated the sidhe and like most humans, can hate each other or be the best of buddies, only ever listening to the harpy leader that understood them all.

The harpies have currently decided that their leader is Sophitia Di’Falco, or more known, the harpy with class, they believe that she still has most of her humanity unlike the others and can lead them for as long as she is around.

Strengths

In General

• Even curses have their ups. Due to the curse of harpies, they are forced to endure this curse forever. Thus making them immortal. The harpies that are cursed stop aging the moment they are cursed, but if a child was born from a harpy they tend to stop aging in their 20s.

Day

• Harpies in day time look very humane, meaning they can deceive others with whom they are until the night time
  At day or night, a Harpy can emit a high-pitched screech that can harm anyone that hears it.

Night

• The harpies can fly in their bird forms.
  
• The transformation that the harpies partake in is magical, it will be forced however.
• At day or night, a Harpy can emit a high-pitched screech that can harm anyone that hears it.
